Work with me
Everyone has the resources to be in rewarding contact with themselves as well as with other human beings. Yet life can bring times of enormous change, grief - all stressors which can significantly affect our lives and our relationships. This can sway confidence and relationships; we can feel immense anxiety, grief, loss, depression or simply feel utterly overwhelmed.
I want to hear your story.
Why?
Because your story is significant and it makes up your belief system of who you are.
I practice a combination of modalities all with a pull towards relational, mindful and humanistic therapies. I focus on gestalt therapy, family constellation therapy but also work with mindfulness and attachment theory. Empirical research has shown that the emotional quality of our earliest attachment figures influences not only our development, but also who we seek relationships with as adults and, further, how we parent our own children.
How Do I Work?
With young people I may use play, props, drawing or figurines. With all clients I pay attention to patterns that emerge in your relationships – with friends, colleagues, partners, family and with yourself, of which provide glimpses of your inner experience.
My way of working can evoke lasting change from the inside out, rather than from the inside in. It is deeply transformational.
Often I will work with props as well as talking therapy, using items as representatives of other people in your life. Each session will be different and will be suited to the person or people who sit before me.
“You can’t get to courage without rumbling with vulnerability.”
- Brene Brown
I support individuals, couples, families and groups in the following:
- Children with stress, depression and anxiety and grief
- Post Natal challenges and anxiety
- New Parent Adjustment
- Life Transitions
- Finding Your Authenticity
- Family challenges and difficulties
- Couple and relationships
- Counselling Anxiety and Depression
- Reproductive support including fertility challenges, assisted reproduction, miscarriage, still birth, birth support, birth trauma
My work is deeply entrenched in the belief if one person struggles, so do their loved ones. But individuals, families and their relationships have the potential to thrive, even during times of great adversity. Psychotherapy offers an alternative pathway, one that can be profoundly life changing and validating.
With awareness comes choice. With choice comes ways forward.
